- The tasks and responsibilities of the PSS facilitator are as follows:
- · Conduct inclusive, age and gender- appropriate psychosocial support (PSS) activities for targeted displaced children and caregivers inside and outside shelters.
- · Adapt activities to suit the needs of various age groups, ensuring inclusivity for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities.
- · Address difficult behaviors such as conflict, aggressiveness, and introversion by understanding their underlying causes. Use positive communication techniques to manage the situation, promote understanding, and de-escalate tensions, ensuring a supportive and respectful environment.
- · Ensure activities are carried out on schedule to guarantee the successful implementation of the project, addressing any challenges and aligning with project goals and quality standards.
- · Assist Child Protection Officer in facilitating GBV awareness sessions for adolescent girls and women during distributions of MHM and dignity kits.
- · Track attendance and participation rates in activities to assess engagement levels.
- · Regularly assess the impact of activities on children's well-being and development.
- · Report concerns regarding children’s safety, well-being, or any emerging needs to Child Protection Officers for further action.
- · Coordinate with other CP team members, shelter staff, and local stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to child protection and caregiver support.
- · Keep comprehensive and accurate records of all activities, ensuring that data is collected, stored, and handled in a safe and confidential manner. This includes documenting key details of each session or intervention, tracking progress, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with data protection standards.
- · support in gathering feedback from beneficiaries, ensuring accountability to children and caregivers, and contributing to the continuous learning process to improve program outcomes.
- · Prepare and submit regular reports on child protection activities, and observed trends, while identifying gaps and recommending solutions.
- · Actively engage in all mandatory training sessions provided by AVSI and relevant sector organizations to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- · Perform other duties within areas of responsibility as requested by the supervisor.
