(2) Midwife - Marj and Baalbeck

Main Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide home visits and MMU visits for sexual and reproductive health counseling.
  • Conduct sexual and reproductive health Consultations inside the centers with women and girls.
  • Work directly with women and girls to carry out awareness sessions activities with them inside the center, involving community members when appropriate.
  • Provide assistance through a preventative approach in arranging and providing parenting and health education for the beneficiary, her partner and family.
  • Educate women on fertility, warning signs of pregnancy complications, hygiene, vaginal infections, family planning and children’s health.
  • Internally refer pregnant women or women in need to contraceptive and ultrasounds to the gynecologist using proper referral pathways.
  • Follow WHO guidelines for antenatal care as well as other relevant guidelines and Lebanese law.
  • Manage SRHR initiatives, campaigns and other activities at the community and PHC levels.
  • Refer beneficiaries to the social worker for support when needed.
  • Fill out the registration form with the beneficiaries.

Other tasks:

  • Respect and Abide to the organization’s internal code of conduct.
  • Represent Amel Association, when requested and is necessary.
  • Attend and participate in local and capacity building events as needed/Actively participate in training throughout the year.
  • Be available to attend and participate in internal and external meetings.
  • Meetings with other program staff is required and will be on a timely basis.
  • Maintain positive relations with other team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements, Skills and Qualifications: 

  • University degree in Midwifery
  • 2 to 3 years of experience 
  • Essential Ministry of Public Health practice license as a midwife in Lebanon
  • Essential Certificate of registration at the Lebanese Order of Midwives
