Rehabilitation of Chmistar Concrete water storage tank

Oxfam is seeking a contractor to conduct rehabilitation of Chmistar Concrete water storage tank.

Re‑Waterproofing of Existing Reinforced Concrete Water Tank

Tank Dimensions: Height = 6 m, Diameter = 20 m
Surface Area: 377 m²

Scope of Goods and Services

The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary to execute the works, including but not limited to:

  • Cleaning of all internal tank surfaces, including removal of dirt, algae, laitance, loose or deteriorated concrete.
  • Mechanical removal of unsound concrete, cracks, honeycombs, and defective areas.
  • Repair of cracks and concrete defects using approved repair materials compatible with reinforced concrete and suitable for potable water tanks. All cracks and defects are effectively repaired with no visible deterioration.
  • Surface preparation in accordance with manufacturer recommendations prior to waterproofing application.
  • Supply and application of two (2) coats of cementitious waterproofing material, certified and approved for potable (drinking) water use.
  • Sealing of all construction joints, pipe penetrations, and fittings using compatible sealing systems.
  • Proper curing of the waterproofing system as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Conducting a water tightness test after completion.
  • Final cleaning and handover of the tank ready for operation
  • All joints and pipe penetrations are sealed and watertight.

2.2 External Painting of Concrete Surfaces

  • Scope of Goods and Services: Surface area: 377m2
  • Surface preparation of external concrete surfaces, including cleaning and removal of dust, loose paint, and contaminants.
  • Supply of approved elastomeric exterior protective coating (Mobleksen type or equivalent) suitable for concrete water tank structures.
  • Application of two coats of elastomeric exterior paint in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
  • Compliance with recommended drying times between coats.
  • Completion of work including all labor, equipment, and accessories.
  • Works comply fully with the approved technical specifications and standards.

2.3 Supply and Installation of Automatic Pump Shut‑Off Sensor

Quantity: 1 Lump Sum (LS)

Scope of Goods and Services:

  • Supply of a complete automatic level control system compatible with the existing pump.
  • Installation of a float level switch inside the water tank at the required level.
  • Electrical wiring and connection to the existing pump control panel.
  • Configuration of the system to automatically stop the pump once the tank reaches full level.
  • Installation of all required conduits, cables, mounting accessories, and fittings.
  • Testing and commissioning of the system to confirm reliable operation.
  • Handover of a fully functional system.

2.4 Defects Liability and Warranty

  • The Contractor shall provide a defects liability period of not less than 12 months from the date of final acceptance.
  • During this period, the Contractor shall rectify, at no additional cost, any defects arising from poor workmanship or defective materials.
  • All materials and installed systems shall be covered by manufacturer warranties, where applicable.
  • Defects identified during the warranty period shall be corrected promptly within an agreed timeframe.

 3.METHODOLOGY

EXPERIENCE OR PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

The company/ individual(s) should have the following competencies:

Essential

  1. I.D. card for the person signing on the bid empowered by the power of attorney. 
  2. Supplier to provide CVs of the key person needed to implement the activity.
  3. Copies of original documents that demonstrate their legal establishment, registration, and status.
  4. Experience in the same domain, please attach a table including a list of projects related to the rehabilitation of water storage concrete tanks in the past 1 year (company name, contact email or phone, work description).
  5. Supplier to provide reference; Two references (name, phone number, email, entity)
  6. Warranty for minimum one year
  7. Confirmation letter of delivery time 5 working days Please attach a pdf document.
  8. Data sheets for each item specified in the BoQ (Waterproof and automatic pump shut). Each data sheet must be saved as a separate file with the corresponding item name.
  9. List of machinery that will be used
  10. Financial Folder: financial offer for the Bill of Quantities (Date and validity of quote must be included)
