Midwife

The Good Shepherd Sisters are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Midwife to join our Healthcare Center team.

The Midwife will provide safe, respectful, and patient-centered care to women throughout pregnancy and postnatal stages, while supporting maternal and newborn health services for vulnerable communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide antenatal and postnatal care services
• Support breastfeeding and maternal/newborn health education
• Offer family planning counseling and contraceptive guidance
• Identify and refer high-risk pregnancies when needed
• Educate women and families on pregnancy, hygiene, nutrition, and newborn care
• Maintain accurate patient records and reporting
• Participate in outreach activities and awareness sessions
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and safeguarding policies

• Identify, provide first-line support and respond appropriately to gender-based violence (GBV) concerns, ensuring confidential, survivor-centered support and referral to specialized services when required

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery or Nursing
• Valid license to practice in Lebanon
• 5 years of relevant experience (NGO or PHC experience is a plus)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Arabic required; English or French is a plus
• Basic computer and reporting skills
