- Background & Context
The Safadi foundation (SF), in partnership with AIDA is implementing the European Union–funded project “TARABUT” in Fayhaa cities north Lebanon.
This project aims to actively engage community members, in cultural, social, environmental, sport, artistic, among other activities under “Together for a Better Fayhaa”, which is the project campaigns slogan.
The Safadi Foundation is seeking to empower local entities to drive social change in Tripoli. This grant is specifically designed to support Established Organizations in implementing high-impact projects that foster social cohesion, reduce community tensions, and improve the quality of life in marginalized areas.
- Grant Information
Target Beneficiaries: 5 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
Grant Range: Awards will range between 25,000 Euros and 30,000 Euros.
Maximum Grant Amount: 30,000 Euros per entity
- Scope of Work and Eligible Activities
Applicants must propose projects falling under one or more of the following categories:
- Cultural Initiatives: Theatre plays, art exhibitions, and events promoting local traditions and unity.
- Environmental Actions: Cleaning campaigns, landscaping, and urban beautification.
- Social Initiatives: Gender equity, inclusion of marginalized groups, support for people with disabilities, and psychosocial support.
- Sports and Recreation: Marathons, team competitions, and activities fostering diversity.
- Educational and Artistic: Programs enhancing learning or artistic expression for social harmony.
- Economic Empowerment: Skills training, job creation, and local economic development.
- Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for funding, the applicant must meet the following:
- Legal Status: Must be a legally registered entity in Lebanon (CSO).
- Geographical Focus: Activities must take place within Tripoli, with priority given to marginalized or conflict-prone neighborhoods (Tripoli – Qalamoun – Badawi – Mina)
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) year of experience in implementing community-based projects.
- Selection and Evaluation Criteria
- Compliance with Eligibility Criteria: Meet all requirements.
- Thematic Focus: Proposed initiatives must align with the overarching goal of the project and demonstrate a clear contribution to enhancing social cohesion within the community.
- Impact and Sustainability: Proposals must demonstrate significant potential to reduce community tensions, build trust among different community groups, and foster long-term social cohesion, beyond the grant period.
- Scalability and Replicability: Proposals that offer scalable solutions or can be replicated in other parts of Tripoli or similar contexts will be given priority.
- Gender Equity and Inclusion: Projects must explicitly address gender equity, ensuring participation and benefits for women and men equally. Initiatives that actively promote women's leadership or address gender-based violence are encouraged.
- Financial Viability: The budget should be realistic and justified.
- Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E): Proposals must include a clear M&E plan that outlines how the project's impact on social cohesion will be measured. This should include specific, measurable indicators aligned with the project's objectives.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Proposals should demonstrate collaboration with local stakeholders, including community leaders, other NGOs, and public sector entities. Projects that build on existing community initiatives or leverage local resources will be prioritized.
- Ethical Considerations: Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to ethical standards, including transparency in financial management and accountability to beneficiaries. Proposals must demonstrate conflict sensitivity in considering the local context and avoiding the exacerbation of existing tensions. Projects that foster dialogue and understanding between different community groups will be prioritized.

Interested organizations must submit a complete application package, including:
- Technical Proposal
- Financial Proposal/Budget.
- Proof of Legal Registration.
- Organizational Portfolio
- An online info-session will be held on 19 May 2026. Interested applicants are requested to send an email to leila.arab@safadi-foundation.org and cc admn@safadi-foundation.org to receive the invitation link for the session with subject (“Subgrant Info session”)
- Submission Process
- Applicants are required to fully complete and include all documents specified above. Incomplete applications will not be considered for review.
- Interested applicants must submit all required documentation to leila.arab@safadi-foundation.org cc admn@safadi-foundation.org no later than 5 JUNE 2026. Applications through email address (soft copy) and in hand (hard copies) to Tarabut Coordination center is mandatory.
- Every application will undergo a formal review by the team. Applicants can expect to receive feedback within (3) weeks of their submission date.
