Bus Driver

 Areas of Responsibility:  

General objective of the job

• Provide transportation for the participants to the activities designated locations from their houses and/or any assembly point to participate in activities, after coordinating with the outreach workers.
• Drive in a safe, timely and controlled manner.
• Obey all traffic laws.
• Always maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus.
• Ensure the safety of the participants.
• Assist the participants with getting on and off the bus as needed.
• Coordinate with outreach workers and project team to maintain a safe environment for all participants on the bus.
• Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route.

General Administration Support

• Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Participate to all required trainings ( in terms of CP, safety and security…)
• Provision of bus registration papers as well as the bus insurance, the driver’s license and the civil record.
• Provision of a quotation.

Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, with a safe driving record;
• Specific driving experience in the area;
• Basic knowledge of protocol rules and procedures;
• Good communication skills;
• Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repairs;
• Previous experience with education and/or protection projects with a Non-Governmental or other International Organisation is an advantage;

Reporting

The Bus drivers shall report to the project manager.

All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.
