Project Description
The educational project implemented by Amel Association in Saida aims to improve access to education, school retention, and psychosocial well-being for vulnerable children affected by displacement and socio-economic hardship. The project targets children living in collective shelters as well as those attending activities at Amel’s community center in Saida.
The intervention combines educational support, psychosocial and recreational activities, awareness sessions, and referral services through an integrated child-centered approach. The project includes face-to-face retention support sessions, light educational and recreational activities in shelters, distribution of educational kits, social-emotional learning (SEL) activities, awareness sessions for children and caregivers, and vocational guidance activities for adolescents.
In addition, the project strengthens the capacities of educators and facilitators through continuous training and ensures the identification and referral of vulnerable children to specialized child protection and mental health services when needed. Community engagement is also promoted through events, parent involvement, and child participation committees to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The project is expected to support around 800 conflict-affected individuals, including 600 children and 200 caregivers, through educational and psychosocial interventions implemented in Saida community center and collective shelters.
