ECE Teacher Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Lead ECE Teacher in delivering effective teaching and facilitation for children, including vulnerable host community children, using a variety of teaching methodologies such as demonstrations, activities, and discussions.
• Assist in teaching basic academic skills, including alphabet and letter recognition, numbers, and early reading and writing in Arabic and English (or French).
• Help lead children through creative play, hands-on activities, and interactive learning experiences.
• Attend and actively participate in all mandatory trainings conducted by the organization or partners.
• Contribute to maintaining a child-friendly, inclusive, and safe learning environment that supports children’s physical, emotional, and intellectual wellbeing.
• Apply positive discipline techniques and model supportive behaviour in the classroom.
• Support the teacher in conducting pre-, post-, and periodic assessments to track children’s learning progress throughout the cycle.
• Provide individualized support to students according to their needs and abilities, as directed by the Lead Teacher.
• Assist in supervising children upon arrival, departure, and during breaks or transitions between sessions.
• Help with classroom organization and decoration, preparation of learning materials, and ensuring spaces are clean and well-arranged.
