Special Education Educator

Tahaddi is a Lebanese NGO established in 2008 dedicated to supporting families living in extreme poverty by providing access to non-formal education, healthcare, and psychosocial services. The Tahaddi Education Center (TEC) serves out-of-school and vulnerable children, offering them a safe learning environment and opportunities to thrive

Position Summary
Tahaddi is seeking to recruit a Special Education Educator to support children, typically aged 3–10, with diverse learning needs. The educator will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), foster inclusive learning environments, and collaborate with families and professionals to promote the holistic development of each child. The role includes participation in summer activities during the month of July.

Reports to: ECE and Best Step Program Coordinator

Work schedule: Monday-Friday 7:55 - 3:15

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction as needed to support diverse learning needs.
• Prepare weekly and monthly lesson plans and adapt educational materials to meet student needs.
• Create and maintain a safe, positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Conduct regular assessments of students’ academic, emotional, and behavioral development.
• Monitor, document, and report on student progress using agreed evaluation tools.
• Collaborate closely with educators, teaching assistants, social workers, and therapists to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s development.
• Organize and facilitate regular informative meetings with parents and caregivers.
• Participate actively in staff meetings, coordination sessions, and professional development opportunities.
• Uphold child safeguarding policies and create an environment where children feel safe and supported.

Qualifications & Skills
o Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from an accredited university;
o Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a Master’s degree in Special Education.
o Minimum 2 years of experience working with children with special needs, preferably in inclusive or community-based education settings.
o Experience working with vulnerable or marginalized children
o Fluency in Arabic and strong proficiency in English (spoken and written).
o Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

o Strong classroom management, interpersonal, and creative instructional skills.
o Patience, empathy, and respect for children from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
o Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
