Procurement and Logistics Officer

Job Purpose

The Procurement and Logistics Officer is responsible for implementing MAG’s procurement and logistics framework, ensuring it is built around an efficient supply chain and ensuring logistics support is aligned with programme needs. The role ensures effective compliance with, and implementation of, all relevant policies, procedures, rules, and best practices across all MAG bases, supporting operational activities, facility maintenance, support team needs, and all logistics-related matters as required. 

MAG main office is in Nabatieh; however, given the current situation, we are temporarily operating from both Beirut and Beiteddine offices. Accordingly, the Procurement and Logistics Officer is required to regularly attend these locations for the time being, and will resume working from the Nabatieh office once normal operations are restored.
 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support the logistics components of HMA and WAM projects in close coordination with the Procurement and Logistics Manager (PLM).
  • Execute procurement and logistics activities to meet operational requirements, providing real-time and ad hoc support to field operations as needed.
  • Conduct market research and analysis, collect quotations, prepare Comparative Bid Analyses (CBAs), assess market feasibility and shortages, and provide updated pricing information.
  • Procures requested goods, services, and works in full compliance with MAG policies, donor requirements, and local legislation, including LAF/LMAC restrictions.
  • Maintain an accountable, transparent, and compliant procurement system, contributing to the effective implementation of MAG Procurement and Logistics policies.
  • Update and maintain the supplier database, ensure suppliers meet MAG minimum requirements prior to any commitment, and develop strong local supplier relationships.
  • Monitor the full procurement cycle, including supplier identification, bid analysis, price negotiations, timely delivery, payment documentation, and inventory control.
  • Ensure all procured items are received, registered, stored, and dispatched efficiently, with complete and accurate documentation for handovers to MAG staff and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a robust filing and archiving system for all procurement and logistics documentation.
  • Conduct regular physical stock checks, investigate discrepancies, and support inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure that all procured assets are registered, tracked, and maintained.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the Procurement and Logistics function and support the PLM and logistics team in implementing system upgrades.
  • Ensure the continuous availability and proper functioning of essential utilities and services across MAG offices and guesthouses, including water supply, electricity, internet connectivity, drinking water, and all necessary household and office equipment.
  • Oversee offices and international guesthouses service and maintenance (electricity, plumbing, internet, etc.) in coordination with the Technical Team and IT Assistant.
  • Collect and deliver goods from suppliers when required.
  • Work collaboratively with the program-wide Procurement and Logistics team under the supervision of the PLM to support operational priorities.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, supply chain, or equivalent study and experience.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience, preferably working in the humanitarian sector in Lebanon on projects funded by international donors.
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills with ability to engage professionally with stakeholders and suppliers in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills; ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in English Language (Spoken and written skills)
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Valid driving license for Manual gear.

GENERAL

  • All MAG staff is expected to undertake the following general duties:

  • Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work and reporting concerns if they do arise.
