The Permanent Peace Movement (PPM) is currently implementing a project on women-led mediation in five Palestinian Refugee Camps in partnership with UN Women. The project aims to increase ability of the Women and men in Palestinian Refugee camps in Lebanon to take peace and humanitarian actions that provide relief and that ensure non-recurrence of violence in their communities.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the overall supervision of the PPM Representative and in close collaboration with UN Women the Consultant will be responsible on the following tasks:
- Conduct 5 capacity-building trainings for women groups on the WPSHA agenda, inclusive leadership, negotiation community-based mediation, conflict analysis and early warning approaches, humanitarian action
- Conduct 5 community humanitarian and stabilization initiatives including that aim to increased awareness of protection principles and GBV risks
- Facilitate 2 women-led dialogue roundtables events addressing community stability and human security concerns
- Provide tailored, group and/or individual, mentoring and 10 coaching sessions
- Facilitate 5 coordination and joint working mechanisms between women-led groups and the Legal Department Units of the Popular Committees affiliated with the Palestinian Authority (PA) to enhance community-level conflict prevention and protection responses
- Provide Training of Trainers (ToT) to 50 members of the women groups on the Code of Conduct on the use of SALW adapted to the humanitarian context of the camps.
- Facilitate one multi-stakeholder validation workshop
- Provide reports and updates after completion of each activity
- Support in preparation of the workplan with PPM
- Develop a training program including training curriculum and materials
Essential requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related to social work, economic, business or other relevant fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with NGOs.
- 5 years of proven work experience in peace building, conflict resolution and WPS.
- 5 years of experience in writing progress reports and evaluating the outcomes of the process
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to coordinate.
- Excellent oral and written communication in Arabic and English
