Communicable Disease Response

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Head of the Preventive Medicine Department, the Public Health Officer (Communicable Disease Response) will support national efforts in:

  • Communicable disease preparedness and response
  • Coordination of specific communicable diseases reporting (such as rabies, leishmania…)
  • Support in CD response capacity building
  • Support in CD public awareness

3. Planned Timelines

  • Start: June 1, 2026
  • End: December 31, 2026

5. Responsibilities

A. Communicable Disease Response

  • Coordinate preparedness and response activities
  • Liaise with the Epidemiological Surveillance Program
  • Support outbreak response coordination
  • Monitor implementation of response activities
  • Support development/update of:
    • IEC materials
    • Technical guidelines/SOP

B. Logistics & Public Health Operations

  • Track and manage distribution of anti-rabies Vaccines and immunoglobulins
    • Immunoglobulins (rabies, yellow fever, etc.)
    • Coordinate the provision of prophylactic treatments as needed.
  • Strengthen coordination across stakeholders
  • Prepare monthly reports
  • Perform other assigned duties

6. Specific Requirements

6.1 Qualifications

  • Master in Public Health, Microbiology, or other related fields
  • Health-related degree (pharmacy, nursing, etc.) is an asset

6.2 Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 year at the MOPH
  • Working in CD response is a strong asset

6.3 Skills

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Knowledge of surveillance systems and outbreak response
  • Excellent coordination and communication
  • Ability to draft reports and technical content
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
