Overview

At ASSAMEH Birth & Beyond, we believe every child deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of financial circumstances. As a nonprofit dedicated to pediatric care, we provide life-saving medical treatment to underprivileged children in Lebanon, ensuring they receive the care they need at very low cost to their families. We achieve that through supporting the pediatric wards in Beirut Governmental University Hospital – Karantina.

Mission

Our mission is to deliver specialized, high-quality pediatric healthcare to vulnerable children while supporting their families. Through partnerships with Beirut Governmental Hospital in Karantina and other healthcare providers, we bridge gaps in Lebanon’s healthcare system by offering critical medical support where it is needed most.

Vision

Our vision is a Lebanon where no child is denied medical treatment due to financial hardship. By mobilizing resources, engaging with local and international partners, and advocating for accessible pediatric healthcare, we work tirelessly to create a sustainable model of medical assistance.

Where we work

ASSAMEH Birth & Beyond supports multiple pediactric and maternal units across governmental hospitals in Lebanon. Moreover, our primary operations are based at the Beirut Governmental Hospital – Karantina, where we support the pediatric and maternal unit by providing essential treatments, surgeries, and neonatal care. We first equipped the unit in 2015 and have stayed committed to its growth ever since—especially after the Beirut port explosion, when we stepped in to replace the damaged equipment.With the opening of the new building, we further upgraded the facility with new medical equipment. In 2024, we proudly supported the launch of the hospital’s obstetrics department, further expanding access to maternal and neonatal healthcare services. We have also rehabilitated and continue to support the Pediatric Ward within the Department of Mother & Child, the only public pediatric and newborn facility in Beirut.

Approach

At ASSAMEH Birth & Beyond, we take a holistic and sustainable approach to pediatric healthcare. By supporting the pediatric unit at Beirut Governmental Hospital – Karantina, we assit the hospital in providing neonatal care, pediatric surgeries, and critical treatments to children in need. Our work relies on strong collaborations with hospitals, medical professionals, and international organizations to bridge gaps in Lebanon’s healthcare system. Recognizing that illness affects the entire family, we offer guidance and financial assistance, helping parents navigate their child’s medical journey with dignity and hope. Beyond immediate care, we focus on long-term sustainability, strengthening Lebanon’s public health infrastructure through capacity-building and medical training. At ASSAMEH Birth & Beyond, we don’t just treat patients— we insure that every child has the best experience possible at the hospital.
