Language Specialist (Translator/ Interpreter)

YOUR PROFILE

• 3 to 5 years of experience in translation and interpretation.
• Proven analytical, autonomous and communication skills.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Masters degree in Interpretation (+ bachelor degree in Translation).
• Proven technical knowledge in translation and interpretation.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (French is an asset)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Translates from one or more languages, edits a wide range of ICRC texts, within agreed deadlines, ensuring high quality and appropriate terminology.
• Advises colleagues on linguistic issues.
• Gets involved in ad hoc or ongoing projects (terminology)
• Uses and suggests updates to terminology tools.
• Proactively collaborates with external translators when volume requires extra resources.
• Advises on sensitivities regarding the use of national languages in the delegations.
• Provides interpretation services during meetings, workshops and trainings.
