Call for Applications: Teacher Positions at Kayany Foundation

Kayany Foundation is seeking dedicated, qualified teachers to join our mission of providing high-quality, accredited education to Syrian refugee children and youth in Lebanon. If you are passionate about making a difference and possess the skills and compassion to inspire young minds, we invite you to apply for teaching positions in the following subjects: Arabic, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Math, and Social Sciences.

• Curriculum: Accredited Lebanese curriculum
• Grades: Grade 1 through Grade 9
• Location: Kayany Schools in Saadnayel, Mekseh, and Majdal Anjar.
• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

1. Foster a friendly, safe, and supportive learning environment.
2. Implement the required curriculum, adapting content as needed to meet student needs.
3. Utilize diverse teaching methods (demonstrations, discussions, hands-on activities, debates) to engage students effectively.
4. Apply classroom management techniques to maintain a motivated and focused classroom atmosphere.
5. Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress fairly and accurately.
6. Supervise and support students during arrival, departure, and recess times.
7. Organize and maintain educational tools, aids, and materials in good condition.
8. Participate in training sessions organized by the Kayany Foundation.
9. Follow protection guidelines and report any concerns to the line manager for appropriate action.
10. Adhere to all internal policies, including the Child Protection Policy and Kayany’s Code of Conduct.
11. Provide individualized support to students needing additional academic or emotional assistance, referring them to appropriate resources when necessary.
12. Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and coordinators to ensure consistent educational quality.
13. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress, preparing reports as needed.
14. Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on educational trends and improve teaching effectiveness.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant subject area (Master’s Degree is an advantage).
• Language Proficiency: High proficiency in English and/or Arabic, both oral and written, based on the subject being taught.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience.
• Background Check: Clean police record.
• Cultural Competency: Cultural sensitivity and respect for the diverse backgrounds of students, fostering an inclusive and accepting learning environment.

1. Educational Background (20%) – Strong preference for candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education or a relevant subject.
