About

SAWA was founded in 1990, a non-profit, non sectarian organization that supports the most underprivileged populations in Lebanon, through various programs involving health care, psychosocial support, rural development, vocational training, child protection and promotion of human rights culture.
SAWA was founded by youth group and started from the needs of young people seeking for development in remote and poor area and to spread the culture of peace.
SAWA’s main goals are settling and benefiting the culture of peace to improve the spirit of love, harmony and tenderness in every member as way to exchange the violence of the users of all development channel and education and social network. SAWA addresses the issues related to educational and environmental needs for youth, children, and women.
SAWA Group has worked in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE), Ministry of Social Affairs (MOSA), and the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Developmental programs targeting women, children and youth.
SAWA is working with UN agencies such as UNICEF, OXFAM, UNHCR and other INGOs on response programs including the insurance of educational and protection needs for the Syrian refugees.
SAWA is an impartial organization, offering protection and assistance to refugees and others on the basis of their needs and irrespective of their race, religion, political opinion or gender. In all of its activities, SAWA gives particular attention to the needs of children and seeks to promote women rights.
SAWA is non-partisan and its cooperation is free of discrimination. In everything it does, the most disadvantaged children in greatest need have priority.
SAWA believes that the best way to improve children’s lives is through child-focused development through a range of programs that promote children rights mainstreaming and improve their well-being.
SAWA endeavour to impact individuals, institutions and communities in areas that would improve governance, encourage dialogue, and foster participation.
