Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer

The MEAL Officer will improve information management and data quality and strengthen knowledge sharing and learning across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Develop and implement a robust MEAL system aligned with organizational standards and procedures internally and externally.
  • Conduct and support evaluation studies (baseline, midterm, and end-line) for the organization's projects.
  • Design program monitoring tools and ensure effective monitoring of program outputs, outcomes, indicators, and targets.
  • Contribute to monitoring and reporting processes, including annual, mid-term, quarterly, and ah hoc reports.

2. Accountability:

  • Ensure effective accountability systems are in place, including beneficiary complaints and response mechanisms.
  • Act as the focal point for receiving and channeling beneficiary feedback.

3. Learning:

  • Contribute to program and organizational learning processes.
  • Ensure all MEAL processes are gender-sensitive, inclusive, and participatory, capturing the voice of the target communities.

4. Reporting and Coordination:

  • Provide regular updates and reports on MEAL activities to the management team and relevant project staff.
  • Support field workers with data collection processes to ensure high adherence to policies, procedures, and research objectives.

5. Capacity Building:

  • Provide MEAL support to implementing partners in program monitoring and evaluation management.
  • Promote networking and collaboration with program stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for the MEAL Officer position should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant experience in working on projects targeting gender equality and social inclusion.
  • Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Experience in research, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A good command of English and Arabic languages.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferable.
