Survivors of violence against women deserve the best possible support and care. It is our duty to provide this care. This training will help us understand how to do this – in line with internationally-recognized standards of good practice.
As a community of practice, we share the same goals: empowering communities - particularly women, reducing violence in homes and communities, respecting choices, and building better, stronger societies that safeguard human rights.
ABAAD-Resource Center for Gender Equality & UNICEF are planning to conduct
There 5 full day’s workshops on GBV CMiE, from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm as per following calendar:
September 8-12, Florida Beach Hotel, Batroun September 15-19, Massabki Hotel, Chtoura
The workshop aims at strengthening capacities of social workers-working with survivors of GBV in Lebanon (both refugees and women & girls in host communities) in case management.
The training will be introducing participants to:
Conceptual framework of Gender, Gender Based Violence, Case Management, Humanitarian Emergencies; Steps of Case Management through usage of women’s human rights framework and in line with internationally-recognized standards of good practice; Introduction to interactive IEC materials and Tools for community education and outreach on GBViE; Understanding legal framework for provision of care to child survivors
The training is geared toward social workers & case managers fulfilling the following requirements:
Working in a social community center that provides GBV prevention & response services; Working with women and teen adolescent girls; Providing case management services to GBV survivors; Working with refugee population. Readiness to fully commit over the 5 days’ training workshop. Seats are limited!
The training will be conducted by GBV experts and will involve a mixed-method approach including seminars and plenary discussions, small group work, role plays, and other creative means to ensure learning. Training will be conducted in English and Arabic (with simultaneous translation).

Participant Questionnaires will be screened by an expert committee – including UNICEF and ABAAD members and the expert trainers to determine eligibility to participation. The training will then be customized according to participant levels.
