Call for Consultancy - Graphic Designer

NCLW seeks technical support through a consultant for developing the VAW shelter standards in Lebanon based on the findings of the shelters’ assessment (mentioned earlier) and carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). The VAWG shelters’ standards in Lebanon must also take into account the case management SOPs developed by MOSA in partnership with ABAAD, as well as the SOPs developed for the humanitarian sector response both at national and regional levels.

So, the consultant has developed VAW shelter SOPs, to be validated by and finalized in collaboration with national stakeholders in Lebanon, namely the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Accordingly, the objective of this consultancy is to design the mentioned above report in Arabic and English.

 

Scope of Work: (Description of services, activities, or outputs)

 

The graphic designer is expected to:

  • Ensure that the study and its executive summary are designed in line with NCLW, and Abaad design guidelines
  • Design a creative cover draft for the VAW shelter SOPs study.
  • Design a creative and attractive layout draft for the study.
  • Ensure that the tables/graphics and the layout are easy to read.
  • Ensure that artwork is well edited after taking advice and input from NCLW/ ABAAD.
  • Include charts/tables and include any other graphic elements as per requested by NCLW.
  • Develop text and tables/graphics layout, preferably using InDesign or a similar program.
  • Choose the fonts, colors, size, spacing, and visuals after liaising with NCLW.
  • Ensure harmonized and consistent layout including fonts and visuals as well as tables.
  • Creating visuals when needed.
  • Ensure incorporate NCLW’s comments after back and forth.
  • Finalizing the layout of the study and its executive summary after receiving and incorporating NCLW’s feedback on the draft.

Final Deliverables

 

The consultant will be expected to deliver the following:

  • A draft design for the cover of the study.
  • A final design for the layout of the study and the final draft with all edits.
  • A final design of the cover of the Arabic and English study.
  • A well-designed report in Word, Illustrator, and PDF formats to be delivered with all fonts and colors for printing and electronic distribution.

 

 

Key Competencies

 

  • Graphic design diploma, art diploma, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years of work experience in graphic design.
  • Strong theoretical and practical background in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe Design Premium, In-Design, CorelDraw, or similar;
  • Proven experience in graphic production from stint to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and color management;
  • Having worked on project designs related to Violence against Women and GBV is a plus.

 

Contract terms

 

  • Period: 3 weeks - The report in Arabic, approximately, in word version, is between 45 and 65 pages.
