Assignment duration: One Month.

Location: Lebanon, with fieldwork across all governorates.

 

ABOUT ABAAD

ABAAD – Resource Centre for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC-accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region.

RESEARCH PURPOSE:

The Research Consultant/Firm will lead the design, implementation, and analysis of a national survey measuring public attitudes toward sexual crimes. The purpose of this assignment is to provide ABAAD with evidence-based insights that will inform advocacy, communications, and policy engagement strategies.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a detailed research methodology and work plan in collaboration with ABAAD.
  • Design and finalize the survey questionnaire (Arabic & English).
  • Ensure nationally representative sampling (minimum 1,200–1,500 respondents with a margin of error ±3%; stratified by gender, age, sect, and region).
  • Oversee survey implementation (face-to-face, phone, or mixed-method).
  • Supervise data collection, cleaning, and coding to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and generate findings disaggregated by gender, age, and geographical location.
  • Prepare deliverables including:
  • Survey instrument (Arabic & English).
  • Raw dataset (Excel/SPSS)
  • Comprehensive analytical report with charts and tables.
  • Executive summary (Arabic & English).
  • PowerPoint presentation of findings (Arabic & English).
  • Present results and key insights to ABAAD’s team and partners.
  • Applicants should budget for:
  • Field enumerators and supervisors,
  • Training of enumerators,
  • Translation/back-translation of the survey tool,
  • Piloting of the questionnaire.

 

 

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

  • Strong background in quantitative research methodologies and survey design.
  • Proven experience conducting large-scale national surveys in Lebanon or the MENA region
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical tools (SPSS, STATA, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality analytical reports.
  • Familiarity with gender, sexual crimes in Lebanon
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with attention to detail.

  1. Technical Proposal
    • Proposed methodology and approach for conducting the national survey.
    • Detailed work plan and timeline, including key milestones and deliverables.
    • CVs of key team members, highlighting relevant experience in survey design, implementation, and analysis.
    • Examples of previous similar assignments (preferably in Lebanon or the MENA region).
  2. Financial Proposal
    • Detailed budget breakdown (personnel, field enumerators, training, logistics, translation, data collection, software, travel, etc.).
    • Proposed payment schedule linked to deliverables.
  3. Supporting Documents
    • Copy of the Individual or firm’s registration and financial registration.
    • References from at least two previous clients for similar assignments.
