Consultancy: Filmography and Photography

DESCRIPTION: 

The following task is part of ABAAD Resource Center for Gender Equality’s project on engaging youth groups to raise awareness on non-traditional gender roles within their communities through different community events.

About the project:
ABAAD is working with 50 active youths who will be conducting community based events to raise awareness on non-traditional gender roles within the 5 targeted communities.
Under this assignment, ABAAD is seeking, on a one-time consultancy basis, a production company or group to produce a documentary highlighting the community events done with youth groups that will take place in 5 areas: Bintjbeil, Jbeil, Bebnine, Qobbeh, and Labwe.

Duties and Responsibilities

-The consultant will be responsible for taking part in two preparatory sessions in each area as well as all community events conducted within this project in the following areas:  Bintjbeil - Jbeil- Bebnine- Qobbeh-and labwe. The sessions will involve mixed gender youth groups between 17 and 25 years old. These sessions will aim at preparing for an event through which a gender equitable message will be conveyed to community members.

- The consultant will be responsible for preparing a documentary highlighting the community events achieved by the youth groups that will be taking place in the above mentioned areas, and including short interviews with youth members on their perceptions of gender norms.

- The consultant is responsible to collect photographs from the sessions.  

Deliverables
The consultant will deliver the following:

-A draft script including proposed interview questions of the documentary for comments by ABAAD team;
-All raw footage captured under the scope of the assignment;
-Finalized edited and subtitled (in English) documentary film to ABAAD.

 The documentary has to be finalized by September 28th, 2018.

           
Skills required

the consultant applying to the assignment will be evaluated against the following criteria: 

- Innovative/creative approaches to carry out the assignment;
-Demonstrated experience and competency in conducting similar assignments in emergency contexts/settings;
 -Experience in working with local and international organizations;
-Awareness of the requirements inherent to the work with and for NGOs and donors, especially of donor demands and the necessity to provide them regularly with updated briefs on the project’s progress;
- At least five years of working experience in development of documentaries/films;
- Excellent technical capacities to ensure smooth and high quality/high definition production;
 Sensitization on gender and relevant fields;
- Ability to start immediately.
