OB TITLE: Database Officer
LOCATION: Beirut, Lebanon
ABAAD PURPOSE:
ABAAD aims at achieving gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD has a proven record in working in addressing GBV in emergency settings.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Database Officer will be part of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Unit at ABAAD. The position holder will be responsible for the management of the (M&E) Database. They will need also to monitor the data received from field staff as well as provide support related to data management related tasks.
POSITION REPORTS TO: MEL Coordinator
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
- Assisting in the process of the data management of the M&E Database including data entry
- Working closely with all ABAAD field staff to ensuring that the data received from the field is accurate and consistent
- Performing data analysis and producing reports in various formats including graphs, charts etc.
- Providing ongoing data support to other staff to be used for project reports
- Developing and maintaining documentation database design
- Maintaining strict confidentiality in all aspects of the work
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the MEL Coordinator
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- University Degree in statistics, IT, data management or other relevant fields
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant NGO experience In Database management
- Proficiency in MS office applications. Knowledge of KoboCollect, SPSS or other analytical software
- Experience with data collection and analysis
- Experience with data management software and tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to human rights, gender equality, non-discrimination
- Flexible pro-active attitude
- Ability to work well as an individual and in a team
- Ability to manage an unpredictable workload in a challenging environment
- Ability to work across socio-cultural and religious contexts
- Belief in ABAAD’s mission and vision
- Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English, French is a plus
