Project Focal Point - GOAL

Overview

Aim: To support government and partners in strengthening the ability of health systems to meet the mental health needs of refugee and host communities affected by protracted displacement, focusing on Lebanon.

Report to: National Mental Health Program's Operations manager

The project focal point will work on one or more assigned projects and be responsible to:

  • Develop project action plan in coordination with operations manager and in line with the project management SOP
  • Coordinate project activities, from substantive, administrative and financial points of view, applying strategic planning and systematic coordination of project activities through the action plan in coordination with the unit coordinator
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination internally with other units and externally where asked between different partners within the project
  • Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures
  • Ensure all needed preparations  for meetings related to the project (agenda, presentation, etc.) and prepare and distribute minutes to all project team members
  • Manage all project documentation, including ensuring timely preparation and compilation of mid-term progress report, final project report, work action plans and detailed budgets or any other deliverable to be agreed upon between all partners
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
  • Provide problem solving as needed.

Minimum qualifications and professional experience:

  • University Degree: Master’s Degree in Public Health or health related field, experience in project management and coordination
  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant job experience;
  • Excellent management, communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills; conflict resolutions and problem-solving skills; flexibility in timing; cultural-sensitivity
  • Experience working directly or indirectly with primary health care centers is a plus
  • Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English
