JOB PROFILE  

JOB TITLE: Projects Coordinator

LOCATION: Beirut, Lebanon

ABAAD is a non-profit, non-politically affiliated, non-confessional organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable peace, democracy and social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD believes that eliminating gender based barriers, discrimination and violence while building women and girls’ agency and critical consciousness can allow them to participate effectively in all life spheres, lead change on their own, realize their rights and freely determine their life outcomes.

REPORTING LINES: Post holder reports to:  Programme Manager  

EY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plan the project Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project; 
- Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project;
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities;
- Review the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities;
revise the schedule as required;
- Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion;  
- Implement the project Execute the project according to the project plan with direct coordination with the project team;
- Develop forms and records to document project activities as per the donor’s requirement;
- Set-up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured;
- Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project;
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including project staff in the organization on the progress of the project;
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards;  
- Monitoring, evaluation and draw learning of the project Assist in developing MEAL framework for project(s), including measurable indicators and relevant tools;
- Monitor the progress of the project against set indicators in a timely manner;
- Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures;
- Contribute to the periodic monitoring of the project as well as learning reviews and ensure proper documentation;
- Capture learning and document the work of successful stories, to ensure that the projects’ inputs are producing positive results in the lives of women; - Facilitate learning and linkages among local staff and partner organizations;
- Prepare payment requests, floats as needed;
- Write reports on the project for management and for donors;
- Communicate with donors as outlined in funding agreements;
- Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly);
- Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures;
- Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date;
- Work closely with the financial officer to prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for donors as outlined in funding agreements;
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality;
- Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase  

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

-         Minimum of five years of experiences (NGO is a must)

-         University degree in social science or related discipline, including gender and development;

-         Proven track record of working in a similar capacity with the nation and/or international NGOs in the region;

-         Knowledge of gender and gender equality;

-         Experience in field coordination, monitoring and follow up;

-         Experience in event management and coordination;

-         Highly skilled in report writing in both languages (Arabic and English – French is a plus);

-         Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic including demonstrable ability to work with others and as part of a team;

-         Knowledge and skills in computer usage including word, excel, power point, and social media;

-         Good organizational skills;

-         Effective member of team and role model; demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team, and promotes high standards.

-         Takes responsibility for own work and delegated project/processes (including some leadership);

-         Anticipates problems and regularly provides solutions.
