JOB TITLE: Safety and Security Coordinator
LOCATION: Beirut, with frequent field visits across Lebanon
ABAAD PURPOSE:
ABAAD – Resource Centre for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC-accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Safety and Security Coordinator is in charge of the safety and security of all ABAAD staff, visitors and activities. Facilitates the staff access to provide services to the affected population through coordination and liaison with all stakeholders on the central and field level. Contributes in the analysis of accessibility and provide inputs to better plan interventions.
REPORTING LINES:
Post holder reports to: Head of Operations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support to the management on all policies, procedures and guidelines for staff safety and operational security to insure continuity of service provision.
- Set along the Head of Operations the safety and security plan, review it, evaluate it and update it on a regular basis.
- Set along the Head of Operations the contingency and emergency plans, evacuation and hibernation plans.
- Ensure the communication flow with all field centers/ offices and staff.
- Plan and implement ABAAD access strategy.
- Develop and Ensure ongoing relationships with local authorities and all relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor, record and register all incidents.
- Update the risk register on a regular basis.
- Develop a training plan, and provide training that addresses the safety and security needs of the staff and relevant partners.
- Ensure that each visitor and new staff member receives appropriate briefing and orientation.
- Any other requirements from management
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three years of experience working for an I/NGO is a must
- University degree in management, political or social science, security and risk or related discipline;
- Proven track record of working in a similar capacity with the nation and/or international NGOs in the region;
- Knowledge of gender and gender equality;
- Exceptional writing skills in both Arabic and English languages (French is a plus);
- Knowledge and skills in computer usage including word, excel, power point, and social media;
