Senior Gender Program Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

The Senior Gender Program Manager will oversee the implementation, evaluation and tracking the progress to meet the projects' objectives.

REPORTING LINES:

Post holder reports to:  Senior Director of Programs & ABAAD Director

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan Gender related projects

  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the gender related projects;
  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the reated projects;
  • Develop a schedule for projects' completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities;
  • Review the projects' schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the projects' activities; revise the schedule as required;
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the projects will be evaluated at its completion;

 Implement Gender related projects

  • Execute projects according to the projects' plans with direct coordination with concerned team;
  • Develop forms and records to document project activities as per donors' requirement;
  • Set-up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured;
  • Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project;
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including project staff in the organization on the progress of the project;
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards;
  • Monitoring, evaluation and draw learning of the Gender related projects
  • Develop MEAL framework for  related project(s), including measurable indicators and relevant tools;
  • Monitor the progress of the project against set indicators in a timely manner;
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures;
  • Contribute to the periodic monitoring of the project as well as learning reviews and ensure proper documentation;
  • Capture learning and document the work of successful stories, to ensure that the projects’ inputs are producing positive results;
  • Facilitate learning and linkages among local staff and partner organizations;
  • Prepare payment requests, floats as needed;
  • Write reports on the project for management and for donors;
  • Communicate with donors as outlined in funding agreements;
  • Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly);
  • Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures;
  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date;
  • Work closely with the financial officer to prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for donors as outlined in funding agreements;
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality;
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

-        Minimum of Eight years of experiences; (NGO is a must)

-        University degree in social science or related discipline, including gender and development; 

-        Proven track record of working in a similar capacity with a national and/or international NGOs in the region;

-        Strong knowledge of gender and gender equality;

-        Experience in field coordination, monitoring and follow up;

-        Experience in  management and coordination;

-        Highly skilled in report writing in both languages (Arabic and English – French is a plus);

-        Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic

-        Demonstrable ability to work with others and as part of a team;

-        Knowledge and skills in computer usage including word, excel, power point, and social media;

-        Good organizational skills;

-        Effective member of team and role model; demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team, and promotes high standards.

-        Takes responsibility for own work and delegated project/processes (including some leadership);

-        Anticipates problems and regularly provides solutions.
