ABAAD PURPOSE:

ABAAD aims at achieving gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD has a proven record in working in addressing GBV in emergency settings.


JOB PURPOSE:

ABAAD is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Project Coordinator to manage the planning, implementation and evaluation of GBV prevention and response services project.


REPORTING LINES:

Post holder reports to:  Founder and Director of ABAAD

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible of the management and implementation of the project activities;
  • Responsible of grant management including budget and procurement;
  • Prepare work plans, define project objectives, indicators, and required resources (time, budget, and materials);
  • Develop and update project implementation schedules to ensure proper sequencing of activities;
  • Follow up on field implementation with the Implementation unit for timely and efficient delivery;
  • Develop budget spending plans and monitor expenditures in line with approved budgets;
  • Monitor and approve project-related costs and ensure efficient use of resources;
  • Develop, in close coordination with the MEL team, a MEAL framework including measurable indicators and tools;
  • Monitor project progress against plans and indicators and adjust implementation as needed;
  • Establish and maintain proper documentation systems, files, and records in line with donor and ABAAD’s requirements;
  • Develop forms and tools to document project activities and ensure data accuracy and security;
  • Ensure compliance with donor and ABAAD’s procedures (financial, procurement, HR and administrative);
  • Establish communication plans and maintain regular coordination with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders;
  • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing among staff and partner organizations;
  • Review quality of work regularly to ensure it meets agreed standards;
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to address potential challenges or delays;
  • Capture learning, document success stories, and contribute to knowledge management initiatives;
  • Prepare narrative reports for management and donors in a timely and high-quality manner;
  • Monitor cash flow projections and report variances to senior management on a regular basis;
  • Manage project funds in line with accounting policies and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date;
  • Work closely with the finance department to prepare financial, narrative reports and supporting donor documentation;
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and at the required quality standards;
  • Prepare payment and cash requests as needed;

 

 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

  • Minimum of five years of experiences (NGO is a must)
  • University degree in management, project management, business administration, social sciences or any related discipline, including gender and development;
  • Proven track record of working in a similar capacity with the national and/or international NGOs in the region;
  • Knowledge of gender and gender equality;
  • Experience in field coordination, monitoring and follow up;
  • Experience in project management and coordination;
  • Highly skilled in report writing in both languages (Arabic and English – French is a plus);
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic including demonstrable ability to work with others and as part of a team;
  • Knowledge and skills in computer usage including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point;
  • Ability to work with others and as part of a team;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team, and promotes high standards;
  • Takes responsibility for own work and delegated project/processes (including some leadership);
