ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:   Ensure proper handling and safe keeping of the assigned vehicle; Handle materials and facilities in his/her custody with due care; Drive the vehicle safely and observe strict traffic rules and regulations; Regularly check, inspect, every morning that the vehicle is filled with water, Fuel, oil, and have road-worthy tires and also check the carrying capacity of the  Vehicle before departure and register consumption in log book;  Start, stop and control speed direction of assigned vehicle; Perform emergency roadside and minor repairs such as changing tires, installing Light bulbs and spark plugs etc. ; Receive written instructions; check appropriateness of form, pick-up or meet   passengers on appointment or schedule, make short or extended trips as required; Carry mail, parcel etc. to and from post office, and other establishments as   required, sign for receipt; obtain signature for materials delivered; Register mileage on start and finish of errands, nature of business, authorizing staff   and contracted personnel; Service and clean vehicle, make routine repairs and adjustments; Follow-up scheduled service date for vehicle and report maintenance needs, monitor performance of service and repairs; Follow-up annual registration dates for vehicles, submit vehicle for inspection, renew operator's license at the prescribed interval; Help in sorting stapling and binding of documents; Help in loading and unloading of light items. Treat all passengers with courtesy and respect, Maintain personal clean  and wear proper clothes according to project policy;       Refrain from smoking in the car office and be free of the affects of alcohol while on duty. There is a zero tolerance for use of illegal drugs at any time; Perform any other tasks as requested by the managing director .
