Communication Consultant

ACT for the Disappeared is a Lebanese Human Rights organization created in 2010 that aims to clarify the fate of the thousands of forcibly disappeared and missing persons in Lebanon and contribute to a reunifying national reconciliation process. ACT seeks to empower the relatives of the victims, engage the Lebanese society in supporting this cause, lobby the authorities to create a sustainable solution and increase the youth's understanding of the consequences of violence to prevent repetition. Project Description: ACT is planning a national communication campaign for the launching of its project "Fushet Amal- A space for Hope" . Fushat Amal is an interactive digital memorial dedicated to tell the stories of each missing person. A space is reserved for each missing person and displays biographical information, information about the disappearance, photos and videos, as well as testimonies of relatives of the missing person. The consultant will be tasked with:• Support the implementation of the communications strategy.• Identify sponsors for the campaign • Invite and mobilize the media to cover the campaign and related activities• Work with volunteers/interns recruited to assist on the campaign• Support in editing the communication material in Arabic and English; QualificationsThe communication consultant is expected to have the following qualifications:• University degree in Journalism/Mass Communications or related fields.• At least 1-3 years of experience in working in the communication field.• Practical experience in communications strategies and projects;• Ability to analyze, plan, communicate effectively orally and in writing
