Background
ACTED is an International Non-Governmental Organization registered in France with global operations in Central and South Asia, Europe, Middle-East and Africa. ACTED has been active in Lebanon since 2006 operating mainly in the North and Beirut and Mount Lebanon governorates of Lebanon. ACTED has been implementing WASH and Shelter interventions in various areas of the country.

Assignment
Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Agriculture Officer is responsible for providing support and guidance of urban gardening project(s). The Agriculture Officer supports the overall project implementation, ensuring targets are reached within required timeframe in the area(s) of intervention.
Functions
The Junior Project Coordinator shall be responsible for:
o Project Implementation
-With the support of Project Coordinator, design a weekly plan and implementation strategies;
-Outreach households in designated areas.
-Day-to-day visit to the field to oversee the establishment and monitoring of works;
-Provide updates of the field work done on daily basis;
-Direct contact with beneficiaries through phone communication or household visits;
-Notify Project Coordinator in case of any problem or obstacle in the field;
-Inform relevant ACTED focal points of any security threats or incidents in the field;
-Ensure correct and efficient use of resources
o Project Reporting
-Collect information needed of beneficiaries and distributed material and communicate effectively with the Project Coordinator;
-Communicate systematically with the team on project progress and planning;
-Participate in documenting lessons learned and best practices during the project
o Coordination and external representation
-Coordinate with the established committees, selected volunteers and relevant stakeholders to ensure an effective implementation of the project;
o Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries
The Agriculture Officer is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner. Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED program objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies. This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
-University degree in Agriculture Science or closely related field;
-1-2 years of field experience in similar position focusing on outreach and community work;
-Experience in distribution and supervision of construction works is highly preferred;
-Fluent in Arabic, with good written and verbal English skills and the ability to work in an international context;
-Strong communication skills;
-Excellent interpersonal skills and external relations;
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
-Flexible and hardworking;
-Knowledge and understanding of international assistance.
-Prior experience using basic computer software required, notably in word and excel.
