Field Coordinator/brt

Background ACTED is a French humanitarian NGO, founded in 1993, which supports vulnerable populations, affected by humanitarian crises worldwide. ACTED provides continued support to vulnerable communities by ensuring the sustainability of post-crisis interventions and engaging long-term challenges facing our target populations, in order to break the poverty cycle, foster development and reduce vulnerability to disasters. Our interventions seek to cover the multiple aspects of humanitarian and development crises through a multidisciplinary approach which is both global and local, and adapted to each context. Our 4 000 staff is committed in to responding to emergencies worldwide, to supporting recovery and rehabilitation, towards sustainable development. Our teams in the field implement some 380 projects in 34 countries covering the following sectors emergency relief, food security, access to health, education and training, economic development, microfinance, advocacy, institutional support, and regional dialogue, cultural promotion. Assignment Under the supervision of the Cash Project Coordinator the Field Coordinator is responsible for the timely and appropriate implementation of assessments and project activities in the field, in accordance with the approach and methodology defined by the project. Functions Field Coordinators shall be responsible for direct management of cash field team, notably in ensuring accurate and timely completion of cash assessments according to project workplans, accurate and timely reporting and centralization of data, follow up/completion of all related program and FLAT documentation, and organization of distribution. 1. Programme Support     Objective 1.1: Field Supervision The Field Coordinator will ensure that all assessment activities are completed on time and in line with objectives and procedures. He/she shall make sure that all data collected in the field is uploaded to the centralised assessment database to allow for quality checks by the Cash project Coordinator.  The Field Coordinator shall undertake regular field visits to ensure that: Activities are correctly completed across the areas of intervention and that expected standards are met; Challenges to implementation are addressed and/or reported to the Cash project Coordinator in a timely manner; Targets as stated in the work plan are met within a timely manner.      Objective 1.2: Support to Project Implementation The Field Coordinator shall support the Cash Project Coordinator in the development of the assessment and distribution work plans, and manage the day-to-day running of activities mentioned therein. He/She shall organize sport checks on the field and flag any issues to the cash project coordinator.      Objective 1.3: Management of Field Staff The Field Coordinator shall be responsible for the day-to-day management of the cash field team and for ensuring that all field teams are comprehensively briefed on the objective, expected outputs and that the overall implementation strategy of any given activity is clearly understood. The field coordinator is to ensure that day-to-day workplans are communicated to the field staff, arrange vehicles for teams and support staff with technical issues with ODK and the pads. The Field Coordinator shall ensure that the field team participate and fully understand any training activities conducted prior to the implementation of data collection activities. 2. Support Functions           Objective 2.1: Maintenance of Comprehensive Documentation Filing The Field Coordinator shall ensure all relevant filing is properly organised, up-to-date and complete for all Cash Program activities. He/she shall, also work closely with the ACTED/FLAT teams to support project reconciliation exercises.             Objective 2.2: Facilitation Whenever required, the Field Coordinator is expected to facilitate trainings or attend coordination meetings.            Objective 2.3: Coordinaton Moreover, he/she shall liaise with the relevant ACTED/FLAT department whenever necessary, ensuring proper coordination between ACTED/FLAT teams, specifically related to: -          Completion of daily labor agreement documentation and payment (agreement, attendance sheets, payment) -          Logistical arrangements particularly related to assets for field teams and field team movements  Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries The Field Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner.  Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED programme objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies.  This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.                                                                                                                         Note:  The Field Coordinator should be able to handle a heavy workload Motivation by the humanitarian context is a must
