Liaison/security Officer/brt

I. Background ACTED is a French humanitarian NGO, founded in 1993, which supports vulnerable populations, affected by humanitarian crises worldwide. ACTED provides continued support to vulnerable communities by ensuring the sustainability of post-crisis interventions and engaging long-term challenges facing our target populations, in order to break the poverty cycle, foster development and reduce vulnerability to disasters. Our interventions seek to cover the multiple aspects of humanitarian and development crises through a multidisciplinary approach which is both global and local, and adapted to each context. Our 4 000 staff is committed in to responding to emergencies worldwide, to supporting recovery and rehabilitation, towards sustainable development. Our teams in the field implement some 380 projects in 34 countries covering the following sectors emergency relief, food security, access to health, education and training, economic development, microfinance, advocacy, institutional support, and regional dialogue, cultural promotion. II. Assignment Liaison/Security Officer Job Purposes are to maintain safe and secure environment for ACTED employees, premises, assets and properties and as well maintain solid and regular communication with local authorities, across ACTED’s areas of intervention. II. Responsibilities Security/safety Job duties: Maintain updated and conduct ad hoc context analyses and risk assessments in line with volatile developments in areas of intervention. Ensure adequate tracking and reporting of all security incidents directly or indirectly affecting ACTED staff, premises, assets, beneficiaries or operations. Participate in security-related coordination meetings and provide feedbacks / updates to the team and Coordination; Works with Coordination to develop and maintain up to date an adequate safety and security management strategy in line with ACTED global practices and in-country operational requirements, including the necessary tools and processes to ensure the safety and security of ACTED premises, personnel and assets; Ensures good internal communication in regarding security alerts and other related information, both with respect to security-related decision making (with Coordination) and security alert dissemination to the team; Monitors and follows up on the proper implementation of security plans and procedures, in close coordination with relevant field and support staff, including through the provision of trainings and briefs to staff as required; Support the management of security incidents, in close collaboration with Coordination and field teams at risk. Liaison job duties: Liaise with local authorities to Introduces and maintain ACTED reputation with local stakeholders; Arranges and attends meetings and appointments with key relevant local authorities; Maintains solid coordination with local authorities to facilitate ACTED access and programs implementation in the area of intervention, and to develop a network to ensure appropriate information sharing.
