Outreach Officer (Lebanese Nationals Only)

Assignment The Outreach Officer will work under the supervision of the Program Manager/s to influence and change attitudes and social behaviours on a large scale, to improve the health and environment of the community. With a strong understanding of the needs of the community and creativity, the Outreach Officer will provide technical and strategic support to the Program Manager of the best methods of engaging the community to improve the acceptance of the project and thus the sustainability of the action.  The Outreach Officer will also work closely to train and support the team in the North. Functions The Outreach Officer will be responsible for coordinating with the community to support behavioural change in the designated area of intervention and ensure timely implementation of project as per program guidelines. The Outreach Officer will directly undertake the following tasks to ensure smooth operations and quality of interventions; Project technical input (office based 20%) Designs community outreach strategies per phase of the project based on analysis of community behaviours, motivations and points of entry Constantly adapts strategies based on feedback from the community Facilitate community consultations, with local residents and local authorities Research successful community engagement methodologies utilised within Lebanon and worldwide to implement on this project Designs IECs, shock art and media based on target communities needs Ensure that project documentation is properly compiled, maintain proper records and provide daily and weekly report to Program Manager; Project implementation (field based 80%) Conducts and designs community meetings and forums, 1 on 1 sessions, FGDs Manages relationships with CSOs, schools to work together on project Monitor the feedback from the community throughout the project implementation and ensures feedback to PM and local authorities is considered in project design Daily management of volunteers working in the field Understands the points of entry for behavioural change Supports the office in the North with their activities in the field, training, strategy and reporting (approximately 20%) Manages ACTED visibility in the field Skills required -          Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Public Health -          Strong knowledge of community behaviours -          Experience in outreach or community work -          Strong communication skills -          Experience working with local authorities -          Experience in logistics is preferred -          English or French language skills necessary
