Trainer Catering (Lebanese Nationals Only)

Assignment The catering trainer is responsible for delivering life skills training for women at SDC Msaitbeh. **Please note: This is a local position. Only Lebanese citizens are eligible to apply.** Functions Train Women on life skills Provide catering-life-skill training (Pastry and Arabic sweets) to women at SDC Msaitbeh Train women in how to use cooking equipment Measuring goods Food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food Train women on work ethics and hostess/ing behaviour Food safety and hygiene menu development based on area specialties Course cycle: Each class (group of 7 students) will follow 54 hours of coursework (1 4-hour training per week over 3 months). Trainer hours: The trainer will provide trainings twice a week for 4 hours (9am-1pm) from end March 2017 to end September 2017, for a total working hours of 216 hours over 6 months (36 hours per month). Supervise the work of the women during the training; Encourage women to work in a positive friendly environment ; Be patient and positive and provide explanation when necessary. Expected Deliverables Curriculum design for 54 hours of course content to be delivered one week prior to start of training; Full list of consumable items to be purchased during the course; Attendance sheets of each training day; Daily report on content covered during the course session. Target audience The training will be delivered to mixed groups (Syrian and Lebanese) aged 18-55 with at least basic literacy and numeracy. Beneficiaries’ selection will be carried out by ACTED protection officer according to ACTED’s targeting criteria. Experience required:  Previous experience conducing trainings in professional food preparation and/or catering; At minimum  1-2 years of professional experience in professional food preparation and catering for events.   Education:  Certification in food preparation/food safety/catering recommended.
