Cfw Field Officer

Assignment: The Field Officer will work directly with refugee communities, in particular with WASH Committees and direct beneficiaries of CfW component of the project. The field officer will work in close relationship with the hygiene promotion officer and the community/municipality focal point. She/he will organize and participate in Focus Group Discussions, monitor activities of the WASH committees and the CfW beneficiaries.   Required skills Adequate level of understanding of participatory approaches, good social skills, good skills in listening and reporting, good organizational skills, fluency in Arabic are required   Desired skills: Adaptation capacity and flexibility in an unpredictable context. Empathetic and patient, good team spirit and ability to work in a team or independently according to the situation. Good knowledge of the area and local customs is strongly requested. Fluency in English (read/write) is highly desirable  Objective 1:  Monitor, in particular, activities of WASH committees and CfW direct beneficiaries, in general, waste management activities. Activities :   -          Establish, train and follow up the performance of the beneficiary WaSH committees created in the different ITS and collective shelters. -          Regularly visit the ITS, and collective and isolated shelters in the geographical area under his/her responsibility in order to monitor the activities of the WASH committees, the activities of the CfW participants, the hygiene and solid waste management in coordination with the beneficiaries (WaSH committees) and the other members of the ACF WaSH Team. -          Coordinate the different distributions (solid waste bins, garbage collection structures and voucher for solid waste) in collaboration with the ACF Technical team.  Objective 2: Organize focus group discussions and surveys with target population. Activities : -          Organise assessments, home visits, focus groups and visits to the ITS and collective and isolated shelters  on topics defined in collaboration with Head of Project and the other team members    Objective 3: Support WASH committees in organization of hygiene promotion activities and finding durable solutions to waste management issues. Activities : -          Participate in preparing training modules for the promotion of waste management, -          Participate in developing tools and methodologies adapted to different audiences : songs, role games, mural paintings, meetings, HH visits, focus groups and training courses … -          Implement waste management campaigns using the tools and methodologies developed. -          Organize other participatory activities in order to define and realize durable solutions to waste management. Objective 4: Reporting and Coordination Activities  -          Regular reporting to the Head of Project.
