Action against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation. 

In Lebanon, the Syrian crisis continues to generate political, social and economic pressure due to the war in Lebanon and keeps more than 1.5 million refugees in a situation of increasing vulnerability. In this environment of political, economic and social uncertainty, our teams have maintained their high levels of humanitarian response and aid to Lebanon. Likewise, our interventions have been maintained in the Bekaa and northern areas, as well as in the south of the country, with a special focus on working in partnership or in consortium with other organizations and on institutional strengthening of the relationship with both donors. institutional, such as with local authorities and entities.  


Under the supervision of the Fleet and Security Officer, the Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and secure transportation of Action Against Hunger staff and goods across various operational locations in Lebanon, including Tyre, Beirut, and Zahle. The role also involves reinforcing and adhering to all organizational security protocols, conducting regular vehicle checks, and supporting logistics-related tasks as assigned. The Driver ensures that all movements are conducted in a professional manner, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the mission’s field activities.

Objective 1: Driving & Logistics (60%)

  • Ensure safe and timely transportation of staff and goods based on the weekly movement plan.
  • Conduct daily technical checks and routine maintenance (fueling, cleaning, tire pressure, oil, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and assist with loading/unloading and documentation tasks.

Objective 2: General Responsibilities (20%)

  • Adhere to Action Against Hunger’s Charter and internal code of ethics.
  • Be available to work outside regular hours, including weekends, if needed.
  • Support any additional tasks that contribute to achieving project goals.

Objective 3: Reporting (20%)

  • Report vehicle movements and any security incidents promptly to the Fleet and Security Officer.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety protocols (seatbelt use, speed limits, daily reporting, etc.).
  • Follow vehicle usage agreements and wear identification at all times.

  • Respect and enforce mission and base security plans.
  • Communicate any security-related concerns or breaches to the designated security manager.

  • Assist in emergency interventions and support activities aligned with humanitarian goals.
