Logistics – Pool of Candidates (Different Positions)

As a mean to respond to the increasing human needs in Lebanon under multiple crises, Action against hunger is launching the roster pools project, in this initiative we will validate all interested and qualified individuals in Finance, the applicants will become a part of our active pool and shall be contacted and prioritized when we have any open position or urgent gap to fill. 

Action against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation. 

In Lebanon, the Syrian crisis continues to generate political, social and economic pressure due to the war in Lebanon and keeps more than 1.5 million refugees in a situation of increasing vulnerability. In this environment of political, economic and social uncertainty, our teams have maintained their high levels of humanitarian response and aid to Lebanon. Likewise, our interventions have been maintained in the Bekaa and northern areas, as well as in the south of the country, with a special focus on working in partnership or in consortium with other organizations and on institutional strengthening of the relationship with both donors. institutional, such as with local authorities and entities.  

WE WORK IN LEBANON AGAINST COVID-19 

  • Focusing on Syrian refugee population and Lebanese host communities, mobilization committees, isolation centres, municipalities and service providers. 
  • Conducting training for health personnel.  
  • Distributing disinfection and dignity kits.  
  • Installing latrines for people with specific needs in Aarsal.  
  • Carrying out channel cleaning to ensure proper drainage. Distributing water through tanker trucks.  

GENERAL OBJECTIVE 

The logistics department is responsible for the process of planning, implementing, and controlling procedures for the efficient and effective procurement, transportation, storage, flow and delivery of goods and services. They are responsible for quality supply chain management which includes supplier management, procurement, transport and distribution in kind donors and other. In addition, this department is responsible for safety and security management for our staff, IT, facilities and fleet management. 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

 

These objectives are comprehensive to different positions levels; if you qualify for minimum 3 of the below mentioned objectives, then you are eligible to apply. 

Objective 1: Provide leadership in the area of activity  

Objective 2: Proper management for ACH stock and proper maintenance for ACH warehouses.  

Objective 3: Management of ACH fleets, premises, inventory and equipment  

Objective 4: Implement and ensure the performance of the supply chain, fleet and facilities management  

Objective 5: Implement and ensure the performance of information and communication technology and network management  

Objective 6: Contribute to security management  

Objective 7: Team management  

Objective 8: Promote and Ensure collaboration and coordination in logistics with external stakeholders and implementing partners  

Objective 9: Proper procurement processes in compliance with ACH internal regulations  

Objective 10: Develop, implement and monitor framework agreement strategy 

PROFILE

Training/ Education: Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain management, Humanitarian studies, or any other related field 

Technical specific knowledge: Procurement management, fleet management, Supply Chain management, Inventory control, Security Management, Donors guidelines and procedures, Premises Management, IT knowledge. 

Previous experience: At least 2 to 7 years of relevant experience in a Logistics or Supply Chain management function. Experience in launching tenders is an asset. Experience in Budgeting and Budget Management 

Humanitarian sector knowledge: Previous experience in the humanitarian field (at least 5 years is a plus). Private Sector experience will be considered 

Respect ACF Security Regulation 

Languages: Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic. 

IT and specific systems: Advanced Windows MS Office User. Proficient Level of MS Excel. General IT knowledge and experience is an asset 

Mobility (national/ international): National 

PROFILE CONCLUSIONS: 

  • Solid organizational and planning skills. Ability to handle high workload and prioritize in a timely and effective manner.  
  • Professional Oral and Written communication skills – and the ability to produce reports and different documents in a good quality 
  • Solid teamwork and good conflict resolution skills and Motivation to work for a humanitarian cause. 
  • High analytical capacity and negotiation skills and ability to do timely and quality follow up with suppliers in addition to very good level of understanding of supply chain management. 
  • Flexible person with good understanding of procedures and policies and for ACH humanitarian principals: Independence, Neutrality, Non-discrimination, Free and direct access to victims, Professionalism, and Transparency 
  • Sensibility for Security and contextual dynamics in Lebanon and ability to make decision within the scope of responsibilities
