Assignment: Monitor and control all water analysis activities, train the field team on the use of water testing kits and on how to undertake sanitary inspection of water points and water sampling, ensure systematic and regular water analysis and manage all chemical and microbiological results, Support in all other wash activities implemented by ACF.
Required skills : Ability to present concise reports, reflecting the problems and possible solutions, experience of undertaking training sessions, ability to work effectively under stress in emergency and other situations, ability to set, initiate and plan a laboratory, Knowledge of SPHERE, WHO, Lebanon water quality standards, ability to use water quality field testing kits specially WAGTECH, ability to analyze and interpret the results of a variety of laboratory tests of water, ability to communicate clearly and both orally and in writing in English and Arabic
Objective 1: initiate a laboratory for water analysis
- Assesses the needs for equipment, materials, kits and consumables necessary for water analysis
- Prepare purchase requests for all procurements needs related with water quality
- Ensure the good functioning and the calibration of the kits (incubators, pH meters, conductivity meters, etc...)
- Ensure hygienic conditions inside the laboratory
- Ensure regular follow-up of consumables and prepare an inventory of all water analysis equipment
Objective 2: capacity building of field team
- Train field staff on use of water testing kits and on how to undertake sanitary inspection of water sources
- Train field staff on water sampling at the different water point’s levels (wells, boreholes, tanks, taps and household storages etc...)
Objective 3: monitoring of water quality
- Conduct systematic surveys, collect water samples and carry out water quality analysis (bacteriological and chemical).
- Monitor quality of water regularly in all rehabilitated/maintained or newly constructed water points (boreholes, wells, tanks, taps, HH storages etc.) and accordingly, maintain a database for water quality results.
- Develop tools and ensure sanitary inspection of water sources; and analyze data and take necessary measures where needed
- Plan, manage and monitor chlorination of water
- Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor relating to WASH projects
Objective 4: Reporting
- Prepare weekly, monthly work plans and progress reports; and prepare water quality reports
- Report the use of materiald and equipments
- Regular oral reporting to supervisor
- Report potenial problems or conflicts during the implemntation of th activities
Objective 5: Others
Activities
- Support Hygiene Promotion and Assessment, Monitoring and Evaluation activities (assessments and KAP surveys, hygiene promotion campaigns, etc.).
- Respect of ACF Charter and internal rules and regulations.
- Be committed to participate in any other activities in order to achieve the project goals.

Experience in a similar position and previous experience in chemical and bacteriological analysis, Computer skills (Microsoft Office suite including access), Fluent Arabic, Good English level (written, reading and writing).
