The Educational Officer is responsible for monitoring Learning Program in Baalbek, Lebanon. Their main role is in supporting the Project Manager to successfully implement activities in Baalbek.
Duties:
• Coordinate Educational Activities according to the proposal, work plan, budget, and plans.
• Serve as the main communicator between school officials and parents in Baalbek
• Consult with Project Manager regarding arising issues at the Learning Center(s)
• Be the main coordinator on the field level in Baalbek with all stakeholders (local authorities, partners, and beneficiaries).
• Ensure quality in the program by building the capacity of the staff and teachers through training in psychosocial support, life skills, and others based on identified needs
• Carry out teacher coaching and follow up observation and class visits, and spot check review of the lesson plan
• Lead and report on monitoring and evaluating project activities for the program classes.
• Ensure that data is collected on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Produce timely reports for internal use on the ongoing activities.
• Support in the development of any new proposals
• Support with Monitoring and Evaluation to ensure that data is captured in a correct and accurate manner.
• Assist with any other duties which may be required by the Project Manager and/or Program Coordinator
Technical Skills required:
• Understanding of log frames, work plans, educational projects
• Ability to communicate well
• Trained in PSEA, S/GBV, and Child Protection
• Excellent computing and data management skills
Qualifications Required:
The employee must be reliable, detailed oriented, and responsible.
• At least 3 to 4 years’ experience in the educational field or relevant sector
• I/NGO experience is desirable
• Ability to engage with community members in an open manner, maintain confidentiality and respect
• Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt and work effectively in remote areas, work in a challenging work environment with minimal direct supervision.
• Languages: A high level of written and spoken English and fluency in Arabic
