The Retention Support Teacher at ADRA Lebanon plays a vital role in supporting students at risk of disengagement or dropping out, aiming to boost retention rates and academic success. By providing targeted guidance, addressing academic, social, and emotional challenges, and fostering a supportive learning environment, the Retention Support Teacher collaborates closely with teachers and parents to ensure at-risk students receive the comprehensive support needed to thrive.

Job Responsibilities

Tailored Lesson Planning: Design comprehensive lesson plans that address the individual academic needs and learning styles of at-risk students, focusing on overcoming specific challenges.
Classroom Management: Employ effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive and focused learning environment, encouraging student engagement and participation.
Student Support: Respond promptly to students' academic and emotional needs by offering personalized guidance and support to help them remain engaged and overcome obstacles in their education.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct pre- and post-assessments to evaluate academic progress, regularly track performance, and adjust teaching strategies based on analyzed results.
Collaboration with Project Management: Work closely with the Education Project Manager to ensure alignment of teaching methods with intervention plans, actively participating in regular meetings to share progress and discuss challenges.
Life Skills Integration: Incorporate life skills activities into the curriculum to build emotional intelligence, resilience, and essential life skills for students.
Differentiated Instruction: Utilize diverse teaching methodologies and differentiated instruction techniques to cater to varied learning abilities and styles.
Group Activities and Workshops: Facilitate group activities and workshops to promote social skills, peer collaboration, and a sense of belonging among at-risk students.
One-on-One Progress Meetings: Conduct regular individual meetings with students to discuss academic progress, set achievable goals, and provide constructive feedback and encouragement.
Behavioral Management: Implement behavioral management strategies to address disruptive behaviors, using positive reinforcement and appropriate consequences.
Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and attendance, and prepare regular progress reports to keep the project manager informed.
Reflective Practice: Continuously reflect on teaching practices, interventions, and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Education Project Manager to support the successful implementation and advancement of the project.
