RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching & Academic Support
- Plan and deliver structured lessons in Arabic and French, adapting content to varying student abilities.
- Develop interactive lesson plans, worksheets, and educational games to enhance language learning.
- Implement continuous assessments (quizzes, oral practice, reading comprehension) to measure progress.
- Support children with language difficulties through remedial sessions and personalized guidance.
- Strengthen students’ bilingual skills by integrating culture and context into French lessons.
- Promote a love of reading through storytelling, library activities, and reading clubs.
Student Supervision & Classroom Management
- Manage the classroom effectively, ensuring respect and participation from all students.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning space where all children feel valued.
- Supervise children during playtime, group work, and extracurricular activities.
- Identify students needing additional psychosocial or academic support and refer them to specialized staff.
Parental & Community Engagement
- Participate in house visits with Outreach Officers to follow up on students’ learning environment and needs at home.
- Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers to share progress and strategies for supporting literacy at home.
- Encourage parental involvement in reading and language activities with their children.
Safeguarding & Child Protection
- Abide by ADRA Lebanon’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies.
- Ensure children’s safety and well-being remain central in all teaching practices.
- Report immediately any safeguarding issues, suspected abuse, or risks using official reporting channels.
- Commit to zero tolerance for sexual exploitation, abuse, harassment, and discrimination.
Coordination & Reporting
- Collaborate closely with Project Manager, Inclusion Officer, and Outreach Officer.
- Maintain records of attendance, learning progress, and behavioral changes.
- Document case studies, success stories, and lessons learned for program improvement.
- Participate in capacity-building workshops and training.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Arabic, French, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience teaching Arabic and/or French at primary school level.
- Good understanding of Lebanese curriculum (Grades 1–4).
- Fluency in Arabic and French (English is an asset).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy for lesson planning and reporting.
