1. Background

The Youth Mock Parliament (YMP) aims to foster democratic engagement, amplify youth voices, and promote nonsectarian political dialogue across Lebanon. As the program prepares for its next electoral cycle on August 24 2025, the YMP is launching a dynamic and participatory “Debate Roadshow” that will travel across 6 key regions in Lebanon, bringing debates to the heart of the communities.

This initiative seeks to bridge the gap between the young YMP candidates and their constituents, create inclusive public platforms for debate, and invigorate interest in political engagement through localized and culturally relevant formats.

 

2. Objectives

The YMP Debate Roadshow aims to:

  • Promote YMP visibility and outreach in multiple regions.
  • Connect YMP candidates with local communities and youth audiences.
  • Facilitate public debate on national and local issues.
  • Encourage a culture of democratic participation and non-sectarian discourse.
  • Increase candidate motivation and prepare them for real-time public engagement.

 

3. Scope of Work

The Debate Roadshow will be held in six regions: Akkar, Beirut, Tripoli, Zalka, Zahle, Saida. Each event will be a half-day program and will include:

A. Preparatory Phase

  • Identification and booking of venues (municipal halls, hotels, or public spaces).
  • Outreach to local media and civil society organizations.
  • Training or briefing of debate participants and moderators.
  • Expected number of participants:  Approx. 20 to 30 candidates per Debate event.

 

 

4. Target Audience

  • YMP Candidates
  • Local leaders and influencers
  • Media representatives
  • Civil society organizations

 

5. Roles and Responsibilities

Adyan team

  • Oversee overall planning and coordination.
  • Select and prepare candidates.
  • Ensure proper branding and visibility.
  • Collect feedback and evaluate the impact.
  • Ensure that the nonsectarian and inclusive approach is upheld.
  • Support content framing and values-based facilitation.

 

6. Deliverables

  • Debate teaser campaign (Ad and Reel)
  • 6 fully implemented debate events in the 6 designated areas
  • Wrap up video for all episodes (3 minutes minimum)
  • Full Video and photo documentation of each event (3 cameras), including live coverage on Adyan’s social media pages.
  • 6 Reels feedback and testimonials (including boosting for 2 reels)
  • Media coverage and press kit: Articles (online platforms), TV reports
  • Venue rental and refreshments (50 participants per event)
  • Visibility (Backdrop, Banners, Index cards, Name tags, podium sign)
  • Post-event feedback from candidates and audience (1 video)
