Purpose
The School Education on Coexistence Department at Adyan is recruiting a Non-Formal Education (NFE) Coordinator to manage the implementation of its “Alwan 2014/2015” Project, focusing on “Education on Living Together through Civic Engagement”.

Adyan is an independent non-governmental organization working in the field of intercultural and interreligious dialogue and understanding and promoting coexistence and inclusive citizenship in pluralistic societies.
The School Education on Coexistence Department (“SEC-D”) at Adyan works for the integration of education on religious pluralism, citizenship and coexistence in Lebanese schools. The department operates on different levels and areas of work:
Development of pedagogical materials on citizenship, religious pluralism and coexistence.
Youth empowerment as active citizens in the peace-building process.
Vocational training for youth educators to equip them with needed skills and competences of education on citizenship and religious pluralism.
Public reform program targeting the Lebanese educational policies in relation with citizenship and coexistence education.
Research and publications on education on citizenship and coexistence.
“Alwan” is an award-winning educational program integrated in Lebanese private and public high-schools in the form of youth clubs and aiming to foster the role of youth as active citizens for peacebuilding in the framework of inclusive citizenship through youth training and common engagement activities.
Main Responsibilities
Project management:
Contribute to the development of the program planning and design, including the development of the Monitoring and Evaluation plan
Prepare the project implementation plan and timetable for finalization with the program manager
Monitor implementation of project in partner schools based on timetable and project objectives, based on the project’s M&E plan, and document response
Contribute to the development of the teacher training program and to the selection of trainers
Responsible for the implementation of the teacher training program including resident workshop and monitoring and evaluation meetings
Provide technical support to teachers implementing the project in partner schools
Liaison with partners:
Develop collaboration protocol (agreement) and additional documents for the partner schools
Identify potential new partner schools and contribute to the development of list of potential partners with Program manager
Contact potential partner schools and organize meetings to conclude agreements (including setting meeting’s schedule, preparation of meeting's agenda, preparation of needed documents)
Maintain database of beneficiaries (teachers, schools and students)
Set payment schedule and follow-up on payments made to schools and teachers based on the project’s plan.
Lead the teachers’ in designing and implementing club activities based on project plan and supervise activities’ implementation.
Collect information on club activities and keep up-to-date database.
Share club activities with Communication and Media Officer for visibility on Adyan website and social media channels as per project’s communication plan.
Administrative and general tasks:
Prepare experts’ and suppliers’ payments, request payments issue from administrative department and ensure payment collection.
Weekly update the project’s budget control for monthly comparison with financial data.
Contribute to the development of the project’s communication plan and follow up its implementation in close coordination with the Communication and Media Officer.
Coordinate with the Communication and Media Officer to ensure coverage of project’s activities when needed, including timely submission of information for preparation, liaison with beneficiaries if necessary.
Keep up-to-date data filing of project’s activities and administrative documents.
Comply with administrative and financial procedures and policies in implementing program activities and related tasks.
Reporting Relationships and Protocol of Communication
The Coordinator reports to the SEC-D Programs Manager and participates to regular meetings with him/her.
The Coordinator collaborates with the Administrative department for the implementation, financial duties other administrative affairs.
The Coordinator collaborates with the Communication and Media Officer for the project’s communication plans and their implementation.
The Coordinator is part of the Adyan operational team and participates to the CFT (Cross-functional team) meetings lead by the foundation’s CEO.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and experience
3-5 years of experience in coordinating education field project in Lebanese schools including : a/ liaising with schools and managing multiple-partner projects, b/ extensive experience in teacher capacity building and supervision and c/ familiarity with content development related to citizenship and coexistence
University degree in Education, Social work or a related field in Humanities, Religious Studies or Social Sciences with interest and familiarity about citizenship issues and cultural diversity.
Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic; French is a plus.
Computer skills (excellent in MS Office: Word, Excel…, Internet communication and navigation).

Job Specifications
