RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct support and care to children, vulnerable adolescent boys and girls through home visits or center-based/community-based activities.
- Provide direct support and care for vulnerable adolescent boys and girls and children including psychosocial support and case management. Case management services include:
- Basic counseling and psychosocial support
- Assessment of needs and resources
- Developing safety and action plan
- Implementing the plan
- Appropriate follow-up and referrals
- Case closure (if and when appropriate)
Provide direct age-appropriate and specialized support and care for vulnerable adolescent boys and girls and children including counseling and case management.
- Case management services for survivors or at risk POC’s under the age of 18 will include the above steps of case management along with:
- Age appropriate engagement and decision-making by survivors
- Do No Harm analysis
Organize, facilitate, and monitor focused psychosocial activities, including psychoeducation and focused psychosocial curriculums at the community centers and in community-based safe spaces.
- Mobilize and register participants
- Facilitate structured group sessions using available guidance
- Create support group plan
- Facilitate mid-point and final group evaluations for monitoring and reporting
Monitoring & Reporting
- Support the maintenance of AND’s Case Management reporting system: Case Management Table, Case Management Reporting, while ensuring the adherence to the national standard operating procedures, the interagency case management guidance note and AND’s Data Protection Protocol
- Support tracking of AND’s safe spaces activities’ beneficiaries using agreed M&E tools
- Participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality case management, and reporting requirements are followed
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- At least six months of counselling experience with issues relating to violence against adolescent boys and girls, gender and development, child protection or social change
- Clear understanding of gender inequality, and issues surrounding neglect, violence and sexual exploitation and abuse involving children and adolescent boys and girls
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients at all times essential.
- Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a member of a team essential.
- Fluency in Arabic required
Preferred
- INGO experience
- Experience working with refugee population
- Skilled at using basic computer programs – Microsoft Word and Excel
- Degree/diploma in Social Work, Counseling or other related field
- Ability to communicate in English and write clear and concise reports in English

Works well with a team and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Staff will work from an AND community center located in Akkar, and regularly visit other field sites and refugee settlements. Occasional travel within field sites and Beirut may occur.
