Drawing on glass Trainer
Project Overview
Akkar Network for Development (AND) has been working in Akkar for the last 5 years with women, youth and local authorities to promote the well-being of the community. In addition to other interventions in the area, AND is currently working on a protection initiative aiming to reduce violence against women and children, along with women and youth empowerment.
In partnership with UNICEF, AND is operating safe spaces in Akkar (static and mobile) for women and adolescent girls. These spaces provide holistic services focusing on psychosocial support, violence prevention, livelihoods strengthening and social cohesion to diverse vulnerable populations; Syrian and Lebanese.
These services include skills building trainings for women and girls on diverse topics including Drawing on glass. The trainer of glass drawing is required to coordinate with the center coordinator which would allow to combining the needs of the beneficiaries with the trainings material in accordance with protection priorities for the women and children
Areas of Responsibility: skills building (Drawing on glass)
The trainer must provide training workshops on drawing on glass to a group of women in Akkar. In addition to the technical expertise required in terms of drawing on glass, these classes provide a proactive environment. The main tasks to be completed by the trainer shall be:
Developing a training syllabus/brief to be used in the training module, and implement it as agreed upon with the project management team.
Provision of materials, and techniques’ introduction
Developing creative ideas or new methods for making art attainable to the beneficiaries
Create sketches, templates, or models to guide the learning and work of the beneficiaries
Select the materials to be used on the basis of color, texture, strength, and other qualities
Use visual elements, such as composition, color, space, and perspective, to produce desired artistic effects
Provide a hands-on learning techniques allowing the beneficiaries to experiment, learn, and explore their potential
Identify and solve training issues.
The trainer is required to possess the following skills:
Ability to confidently manage and engage students of all ages in a positive learning
Experience in groups management and inducing team work
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be personable and diplomatic in working with a diverse range of people
Communicate information with enthusiasm, clarity and patience
Ability to demonstrate, and communicate techniques clearly
Understanding the difference between teaching children and teaching adults
Learning shall be provided in cycles. A training cycle of 10 hours, over 3 days for 3.20 hours per day.
Training locations: Akkar.
