Driver

Areas of Responsibility: Driver

The driver will assume responsibility for providing transportation services to the Field team and/or any other AND team involved in AND’s projects.  Under the supervision and guidance of the PM and in close cooperation with the logistic and procurement manager, drivers are requested to support team members, providing transportation services and maintaining relationships with the other project staff.

Job Responsibility:

1. Drive team members in a safe, timely, and controlled manner.
2. Ensure proper use of vehicles by all team members in accordance with AND travel and vehicle policies.
3. Assess security situations and react appropriately while on the road with team members.
4. Ensure that paper vehicles logs are maintained up to date.
5. Monitor and implement regular maintenance plan.
6. Submit monthly report to the administrative officer, and/or logistics officer for review
7. Provide logistical support when needed.
8. Provide basic administrative support to the team members when needed.
9. Attend training/coaching sessions as indicated by AND.
10. Abide by the schedule set forth by AND.
11. Adhere to AND’s code of conduct and employee handbook.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

Professional Qualifications

1. Minimum of Three years work experience;
2. Strong cross-cultural skills and experience working with people from different ethnic/cultural backgrounds;
3. Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
4. Specific driving experience in the area;
5. Basic knowledge of protocol rules and procedures;
6. Good communication skills;
7. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repairs;
8. Previous experience in a Non-Governmental or other International Organisation is an advantage;
9. Diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills
10. Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision
11. Able to prioritize work, multi-task, and meet deadlines

Physical Requirements/Environment

The driver is based within AND office.

Normal office and field work environment.

Reporting

The Driver shall report to the procurement and logistics manager.
