Field Officer

  Akkar Network for Development -AND- “Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Lebanese and Syrian underprivileged youth in Akkar” Terms of Reference     Position Field Officer     Project Overview Akkar Network for Development (AND) has been working in Akkar for more than 5 years with women, youth and local authorities to promote the well-being of the community. In addition to other interventions in the area, AND is currently working on youth empowerment and inclusion in the public sphere, especially in the most deprived areas of Akkar by relying mainly on extra-curricular activities, initiating youth dialogue with local authorities, along with skills building. In partnership with UNICEF, AND is planning to establish the innovation labs in Akkar to support Akkar youth, combining creativity, innovation, learning, mentorship, and exposure to new technology. The trainings of the innovation labs shall help youth broaden their horizons, develop their entrepreneurial skills, and potentially, open up new opportunities, thus improving their livelihoods. Areas of Responsibility: Field Officers The field officer implements the activities on the field level, under the supervision of the management team. He/she also will conduct information sessions, exert outreach efforts, fill relevant documents, assist with logistical details related to the trainings and events. More specifically, he/she will be requested to provide the following: Conduct regular visits to the adjacent villages of the labs. Be in regular and direct contact with beneficiaries Assist in the monitoring of the quality of all works implemented within the scope of the project. Report immediately on achievements or difficulties faced to the direct supervisor Work in close coordination with the lab manager to ensure quality of work, and meeting targets. Support in writing success stories and weekly updates. Prepare and conduct all outreach activities in field, including but not limited to information sessions, recreational and/or sports events, school and/or sports clubs visits… Understand and respect the socio-political situation in the area along with any local custom and/or sensitivity Take initiatives to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work; Support in identification of project beneficiaries for the lab trainings and activities Follow work plan and assist in the implementation of lab trainings, entrepreneurship and mentorship component, providing inputs on work plan accordingly on a weekly basis; Provide daily and weekly progress reports. Coordinate and support on partners’ activities when requested by lab manager and/or project manager. Ensure proper filing of attendance sheets and project documents. Follow up on all paper work and reporting needed from the field Conduct phone calls and follow up with youth on project’s related matters.    Collect case studies and assessments according to AND guidelines Ensure monthly youth recruitment to the labs Conduct youth assessments and interviews when needed Consolidate data and submit to lab manager Advise on selection and enrolment of qualified youth Attend training sessions Follow up with youth, resolve youth-related issues, when required Support in logistical details, e.g. transportation, refreshments… Prepare training space and ensure needed support for trainers Actively support in the mentorship component, through identification of mentors and mentees, team creation, facilitation of mentorship sessions. Accomplish any other tasks requested by management team The Field Officer is required to possess the following skills Capacity to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team Ability to adapt or change priorities according to the changing situation within a mission or the organization itself; Well organized;  Hard worker; Able to manage stress and pressure; Field locations in Akkar Governate; Dreib EL Aala (Wadi Khaled + Akroum+Mashta Hammoud) & Jurd El Kayteah areas Level of Effort The Field officer shall have the following number of month allocated for this task:   Task LOE Field officer 5 months TOTAL 5 months   Reporting The field officer shall report to the project manager.
