Financial consultant

These activities include skills building trainings for beneficiaries on diverse topics based on the needs of the participants. The trainer/consultant is required to coordinate with the project manager to combine the needs with the training’s material.

Areas of Responsibility:

The financial consultant  is required to support the trainees in acquiring best practices and executing these in their daily operations.

Job Responsibility:

The financial consultant is expected to deliver the following:

  • Offering trainees an introduction to basic financial rules along with best practices.
  • Providing financial advice to trainees based on their circumstances.
  • Breaking down different aspects of a business and/or startup financial life, including assets, expenses and income, and help them create a business plan to reach different types of goals.
  • Analyzing trainees’ information and future financial projections to ascertain the best investment solutions and strategies for them.
  • Helping trainees in many areas of financial planning, including pricing strategy, budgeting, taxes, contingency planning and insurance….
  • Introducing trainees to P&L reports, ways of producing financial reports and communicating to the trainees what the figures mean.
  • Introducing the trainees to  all regulatory requirements.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest financial products and regulatory changes. Due to current financial/economic situation in Lebanon, there are immediate challenges in financial management of the country program specifically associated with foreign currency exchange, banking, and financial risks. The finance consultant needs to remain attentive about rapidly changing economic context of the country while helping trainees taking real time decisions to ensure financial sustainability of their activities.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. BA in finance, accounting, or similar field.
  2. Minimum of three years in a senior finance position.
  3. Proven experience as finance consultant or similar role.                           
  4. In-depth knowledge of financial principles and best practices.                 
  5. Ability to think strategically and analytically.                        
  6. Excellent communication skills.
  7. Ability to manage a group and demonstrate leadership.
  8. Ability to monitor and evaluate financial skills of the beneficiaries.
  9. Strong cross-cultural skills and experience working with people from different ethnic/cultural backgrounds.
  10. Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  11. Proficient in MS Office, financial reporting, and analysis.

Deliverables

The provider of services shall be responsible for the following deliverables.

  • Training Syllabus and timetable
  • Materials used throughout the workshop and training curriculum.
  • Training logistics (attendance sheet, record keeping…).
  • Total cost including number of hours and/or days + cost per hours and/or day.
  • Appraisal by the end of the training with further recommendations.

Reporting

The Financial Consultant shall report to the project manager.
