In partnership with UNICEF, AND is operating safe spaces in Akkar (static and mobile) for women and adolescent girls. These spaces provide holistic services focusing on psychosocial support, violence prevention, livelihoods strengthening and social cohesion to diverse vulnerable populations Syrian and Lebanese, including women and girls, and survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), torture and trauma. AND is seeking a trainer with a strong background on First Aid.
These services include skills building trainings for women and girls on several, diverse topics including first aid training, thus needing a first aid trainer. The trainer is required to coordinate with the project manager to combine the needs of the trainees with the training material in accordance with protection priorities determined for the women and children.
Areas of Responsibility:
AND is seeking the expertise of a First aid trainer to conduct a 12 hours workshop that covers the following:
- Introduction to emergency aid, what to do and when to seek the support of a healthcare specialist.
- Basic skills of reaction, response, call for help and care to minor injuries.
- Demonstrating the basic structure of human body and how first aid should be carried out
- Basics of CPR
- First aid management in case of choking and respiratory distress
- First aid management of burns, bites, stings and poisoning.
The Trainer shall demonstrate the following:
- Ability to confidently manage and engage nonprofessional Aid respondents in a positive learning Experience inducing teamwork.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be personable and diplomatic in working with a diverse range of people.
- Communicate information with enthusiasm, clarity and patience.
- Ability to demonstrate and communicate techniques clearly.
The trainer shall provide the following deliverables:
- Training Syllabus and timetable
- Materials used throughout the workshop and training curriculum.
- Training logistics (attendance sheet, record keeping…).
- Key messages for dissemination upon completion of workshop.
- Appraisal by the end of the training with further recommendations.
The trainer shall provide the training workshops to a group of 10 women in Akkar.
Learning shall be provided in cycles. A training cycle of 12 hours divided by 4 days.
Training locations: in the safe space Miniara –Hrar and SDC Hissa – Akkar.
