Legal Expert

Project Overview Akkar Network for Development-AND (AND) is implementing the “Justice in Akkar” project that aims at working with Lebanese and Syrian women in Akkar through prevention and response to domestic violence. This shall take place by conducting awareness sessions about the new Lebanese law protecting women from domestic violence, conducting social marketing, coordinating media appearances, and follow up with ISF in Akkar on reported cases. In addition, AND shall work with 100-150 women to provide them with indepth knowledge of the law, Women’s rights, children rights along with short vocational trainings. The women beneficiaries will also benefit from a psychological and legal support when needed.                               Areas of Responsibility: Legal Expert Services The main task to be completed by the consultant shall be: -  Providing legal services and advice for women participating in the vocational training The legal expert shall be present and involved throughout the outreach and within the awareness sessions, with a limited presence throughout the training cycles. He/She shall be present once a month in each training center, and ready to host and advice women as needed. Training locations: Akkar (Bebnin and/or Mechmech)   Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor Degree in LAW A Lawyer registered in Bar Association.  Fluency in Arabic and English At least five-years of relevant experience with a law firm, international organization, or non-governmental organization. Proven expertise in the practice and application of law Ability to write succinctly and for a non-academic audience. Good communication and teamwork skills Deliverables The consultant shall be responsible for the following deliverables. Reports of cases he/she provides consultancy for, along with her legal advice on the case Final report at the end of the project including recommendations for future projects.
